Why my muscles have atrophied.

Wow, that movie list yesterday was awesome! Who knew how many of us out there not only watch movies for the interiors, but watch the same movies for the interiors?

I think I will put a list together out of the comments, and thank you so much for those. There are two reasons that the list comes at the perfect time. The second reason I'll tell you about soon, since I think the contract is in the mail (hint, hint); the first reason is that after today I am going to need something to watch other than CNN for eight hours a day!!! I've forgotten how to watch anything but CNN!!!

Here're my convos for the past two months:

Someone: "Would you like to go out to dinner?"
Me: "Would, but I'd miss my show."
Someone: "What show?"
Me: " . . . Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull."
Someone: "But you have TiVo. "
Me: "It's not the same."

Someone: "Can you go to the store and get some groceries?"
Me: "Would, but I've fallen onto the couch in front of CNN and can't get up."
Someone: "Jeez."

Someone: "Didn't [the candidate] just say that same exact thing in the same exact way yesterday?"
Me: "He's actually said it eight times already today."
Someone: "There he goes again."

Me: "I'm gonna miss Roland Martin and David Gergin and Paul Begala after election day!"
Someone: "Maybe then you can make some real friends, though."

So yes, thank goodness it's November 4 so that maybe now I'll be able to get a life! I will miss The Situation Room, though. And AC 360. And what will Campbell Brown do now that the election is over? She's pregnant again, so that's exciting. I'll miss Dana Bash and John King's magic map! I now know more about retirement funds, luxury sedans, the potential side-effects of Celebrex, and why it's important to get AARP supplemental insurance than I've ever known before. At least we'll still have The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. What a marathon it's been. I wonder what's going to happen! What an exciting time for our country. How wonderful it's been to feel like we're headed, no matter what happens, in a different direction.

Vote today!

We're just about as excited about it over here in the UK. It's all over the news and major TV channels are doing all night broadcasts just like they do for our own election. We're planning on staying up to see the results. I think it's as big a day for the whole World as it is for the US.

Hahaha! I can totally relate -- I'll be glad when today is over. Oh, the tension, the buildup... it's been killing me!

(I hate suspense.)

I know, I have no idea what I'm going to fill my days with once this is over. Come on America, you can do it!

I've been up and out and voted since early this morning. Now I feel like I could use a good movie or a nap. Wonder which one I'll choose? :) xxoo

I'll be voting this afternoon and I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I can't believe how quickly this day arrived.

Looking forward to hearing what the "hint hint" is for. ;)

Sometimes its not a change in direction but a change in attitude that happens and I think we are on that path now. I'm afraid I've become addicted to Bloomberg, most people I work with have never even heard of it. As to the movies I have never been able to get enough of that apartment in Green Card, could never understand her attraction to whats his name but I can get past that with the apartment. Also, in our next house that we build I told my husband that I want a faucet in the entryway, he thinks I am nuts.

You're being very diplomatic and sitting very adroitly on the fence — but GO, Obama! GO!

yes, this is an historic day! i worked on my Posie ornaments while watching tv. Not an easy thing to do, these pretties are not for a beginner!

Here in Belgium everybody is hoping for a change!
Maybe tomorrow morning we will wake up in a less grim world.
I wish I could vote, and so do all of my friends and family.

Thank you for posing the question about movies!!! This soooooo helps me too! I love to paint movie sets! And I love to pick ones that everyone loves... so now I can gather up information via YOU! Thank you!
BTW... I have painted Under the Tuscan Sun... pop over for a look if you haven't seen my post...

ENJOY your day!

LOL! Loved the tidbes of conversation with *someone*
It is truly an historic day...

Oh my gosh, I know..My dad is obsessed with Campbell Brown and No Bias, No Bull..It's all we've watched for moonnnttthhhs..I don't know what we're going to do after this is over..And we have never, ever watched the news in my house before this election..I can't think of one time..
Sidenote: I got the postcard in the mail the other day for your book and I am sooo excited! I can't believe it's almost time for it to come out; I feel like we've been waiting for forever..

I was giddy with excitement when I turned on CNN (pacific time) and it said "Election day is here". Wow, we get to cheat and have it for two days...kind of. I'm so excited that this day is here and I'm not going to relax until it is over.

Oh you are so funny! and thats so true in my house too!! Same convo here ;)

I left a post on your movie title too! Im so Inspired by movie sets and that Holiday Cottage was to die for, they all are!

anyway , hope you stop in and say HI, I did my first GIVE-AWAY and loved doing it, everyone here in blogging land has been so wonderful, so im giving back!! ;)

Thanks for your fabulous blog!!

Ha. It's the same here, only it's MSNBC -- Rachel Maddow & Keith Olbermann.

We are so on the same page! I've even stopped watching all my favorite old shows! Our 12 year old has even been sucked in. In the evening our little family gathers together to watch The Daily Show and the Colbert Report together! How wholesome.

Rachel Maddow and Olbermann on MSNBC at our house, too. Trying hard to distract myself, though!

Another one glued to MSNBC here - Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann.

I always forget about Jon Stewart but like him when I do watch. :)

I voted this morning, just a bit after seven.

can't wait to hear about the second reason!

Just wanted to say thank you for the apple pie recipe the other day! I made it for a dinner party over the weekend and it was so very good. Fortunately there was a little left over, and I ate it for breakfast this morning to celebrate ELECTION DAY! Thanks so much for your blog.

I am SO the same way. It has gotten a bit ridiculous around here, culminating with a stress-crying incident in the car last week.

Here's to this evening! And here's to the notion that we WILL find something else to do on Nov. 5th.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one glued to CNN. My husband can't understand my addiction to all things political, but then, I can't understand his addiction to "Hogan's Heroes" reruns. To each his own. Everybody VOTE! We took our 3-year-old, 2-year-old and 7-month-old with us to vote this morning - they were surprisingly well behaved. My 3-year-old asked me if I was proud of myself as I turned in my ballots (where did she get that? I don't know). Why yes, Kathryn, I am!

Oh my God, I KNOW. We don't get CNN, so it's PBS, CSPAN, and lots of internet downloads of Keith and Rachel in our house! My parents, who have long been Republicans and no longer are (halleluja!), are even watching The Daily Show and Colbert Report every day. I can't believe it. I am trying to concentrate today to get some work done this morning (before making a Martha Stewart taco salad with mango slices to bring to my parents' house and watch election results on the big TV with all the nice cable channels) but it is hard.

Oh, and for the last post, I'm sure someone said it already but I love Amelie's apartment. And Pushing Daisies, all the sets are so fabulous. Speaking of awesome interiors, have you ever visited the blog "My Marrakesh"? An American family building a dreamhouse and guest house in Morocco? With lots of shopping trips around Africa. yum.

I'd like to vote Yes for the movie list ;) I was trying to keep up and write down the ones I hadn't seen but darn it, I went to sleep and now there's 200 more comments!
