Scrambling

Hey, it's me! Hi!

Still here, just scrambling, but it's okay. Most of the domestically shipped doll kits and dolls are out now, with a big batch mailed late Friday. The international orders and anything that came in after the 18th are still here with me, but those will leave in the next few days, and I really am sorry about the delay. The wired flowers that make up the small bouquets comes from overseas themselves, and the reorder hasn't arrived yet — stuck in customs? — but everyday I wait with baited breath for the flowers to come, and I really really hope to see them today. If they do, all of these orders will go out tomorrow. So, my apologies for the delay, but it's all happening, I promise.

I think I will be building longer lead times into these kits in the future — just a whole lot of stuff has to happen to get them out, and sometimes I can't control those delays. And yes, there will be more kits made available (sorry I haven't gotten to all those inquiring emails yet, but I will do that, too) — just as soon as these all go out successfully, and I take a shower, I'll put them back in my web shop. For I do want every man, woman, and child around the globe to make a clothespin doll. I really do. It's that much fun.

When people say to me, as they will, "But what do you do with them?" I just look at them like this:

" .  .  . "

Like that. I'm just like, "I don't understand the question."

And that works. Usually does.

I should do that more often.

My mother-in-law brought me her mom's old aprons recently and there is a red check one with that same precious stitching....and all the clothespin dolls look so pretty lined up in their boxes. What to do with them? What kind of question is that? :)

That is so funny! As though everything has to have some divine purpose! What a prett picture. All dressed up and ready to go.

Hi Alicia darlin, Diane Taylor from Balt'more MD - oh my those dolls are just precious. I agree with you - EVERYONE should experience making one of these dolls. If I can do it (ST Lucia dolls!) anyone can do it!!!! Remember to breathe and and out - that's all you really have to do. Everyone will be so pleased to receive those dolls.

Take care and thanks for sharing them with us - they are a simple joy in life that noone should miss.

What kind of question is that? This is true eye candy. Beautiful little ladies. This makes me smile on a gloomy, rainy day. hmmm, These little girls are right as rain.

Good luck with the orders. I am so going to have to practice that look. Why haven't I been doing that for years?! The dolls look so pretty in their boxes.

So true!! Anyone who has to ask something as inane as "what do you DO with them?" just ...doesn't get it.
Any of it.

Don't days like this--even if you're scrambling--just make you realize how blessed and lucky you are. :) Lovely dolls from someone determined to live a lovely life, I say.

Oh, the lil' ladies are so lovely in their lil' pink lined boxes!...I love your "look"! It's similiar to the one my daughter gives to people who ask that kind of question about her art. She gives them that look...just before she answers them with "i like toast". Happy Monday! :)

I'm going to try that look.

Love the update and pictures and all of it. The End. xo

Hang in there girl! You are doing great!

what cute little dolls! You are really talented. I just discovered your blog and am lovin' it!

Major cuteness. I needed some pink on a Monday afternoon!

Delightful.

"But what do you do with it ?"

..oh..okay...thanks for playing

and then "I" feel dumb.

Now I will have THEEE answer !

(practicing my "not getting your question" look now)

Thankyouthankyouthankyou.

Dolls are darling, stitching looks great.

OMG...you are a hoot. I do the same thing to people who see me carting my knitting EVERYWHERE. They'll say, you're going to knit? Here? I give them the same look...as if they are speaking Russian. And Chinese. And have a horn growing from their left nostril.

Thanks for giving me a little "snort" today!

OMG! I love that look! I use it often as well. I can totally relate. I love your darling little dolls. A big hug from Oklahoma.

We still haven't made our Santa Lucia girls.I have a feeling they may get dressed on ditsy florals for the summer instead!

Oh, the dollies look so sweet, all packed up and ready to go!!! You must be so pleased!

They are adorable! And when you have them in stock again (after your shower) I just may need one of my very own...

Oh, they look so pretty nestled in their pink and white packaging! Seriously, too cute!

They make you happy that is what they do! I have to tell you, my mother is a librarian in Utah and she called me to tell me she just ordered your book for her library. And she is not a blogger. I thought it was neat you must be on the it-is-a-good-idea-to-buy-this-for-your-library list! There actually is such a list although it probably has a more official name. So exciting!

I use that ellipses response a lot, although I usually kick it off with a "Huh? . . ." and give the most clueless look I can muster.

Ooooh! Don't they look gorgeous in their little boxes!
I showed my daughter these after I'd placed my order and she said oh please can we get some. So we're really looking forward to getting ours. We're in UK so I know we'll be waiting a bit yet but I'm sure it will be worth it.
