I love Zooey Deschanel. M. Ward, too, but mostly Zooey, the prettiest girl in the whole-wide world. And she can sing. Which we knew(ish), from Elf, but still. Heard this song on the radio yesterday just as I was driving by the record store and immediately pulled over and bought their album, She & Him: Volume One, which is lovely but does not actually include the song I was listening to, which is a cover called "When I Get to the Border." Because that's from a movie. More info here and here. And how cute is her dress here. I've played the Border song about fourteen times. I think I'll go play it again.

Me too! I love Zooey. She was so fun to watch in Elf and I just love her voice. My fave scene of that movie was when she was sitting curling ribbon and asking Will's character what he was doing in the women's shower.

I'm so excited she put out an album! I loved her voice in Elf. This is worlds above and beyond the disaster that is Scarlet Johansson's cd.

Yay! I adore this album! When I first heard her in Elf, I immediately googled, and found out she had a CD coming out! I think I bought it the first day! I especially adore "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here".
I honestly think Zooey and her sister are two of the prettiest people in the world. They look like they belong in an old victorian panting!
I heard her on NPR, and was so happy to hear that she is recording, because after "Elf" I was ready to hear more.
