If you listen to Mignonette while driving the back roads to the state fair, I think you'll have a very fine time.
All your friends will be there to greet you [howdy]:
The pretty tweed chickens.
The sleek, nutmeg-brown cows.
The mildly inquisitive sheep-goats.
The velvet-nosed old boys.
The second-place winners.
The sweet onions.
The watermelon-seed spitters.
The golden homemade pies.
The creamy cheescakes, watching the crowd walk by.
The funnel cakes and the lemon ice.
The painted ladies.
The opportunities for thrilling flight.
I could frame all of those great shots. Love the ferris wheel the best!
Hi Alicia, thanks for the evocative words and pictures of your county fair....they reminded me of "Charlotte's Web," you know, the part where Fern goes to ride the ferris wheel with Henry Fussy? (A side note: I used to have a pair of zebra finches I named Henry and Fern!). Anyways, I just wanted to say I'm heading to our Delta State fair here in Memphis today with my husband, daughters, and our family members who had to evacuate New Orleans due to Gustav. Should be a fun diversion for all--and hey, there's a pig race tonight! :)
wow! great photos!
Your photos are so bright and vivid!!! I don't even think the naked eye captures life in such a rich, colorful way. Soooo cool!!!
Both of those pictures are sheep. The first one (with the black head) looks like a Dorper. The second picture looks like Katahdins. :-)
Signed-
Katie the Sheep Lover (but not in a sick way)
