Oh my word, what a couple of weeks it's been. The scene above is my carrot-on-a-stick — each night I hurl myself toward my nightlight and this pile of pillows with total determination and . . . devotion. I would call it devotion. It's possbly more like desperation. There's a fine line.
Andy went back to work today to, as he put it, "get some rest." He thanks you most sincerely for all of your kind comments on his dispatch from the front lines — I giggled all day yesterday as I watched him get up repeatedly to check to see if there were any new comments, and come back to his work table smiling, telling me what somebody'd said. Too! Cute! Agh. Sweet sweet sweet. It was an intense run. Mr. Awesome only got slightly crabby once and I only cried once, so I think, overall, we did really well! I thank you again so very much for your orders. All of the kits are assembled, almost all of them have been shipped, and what hasn't been shipped yet will be shipped tomorrow. Unfortunately, we are utterly sold out, and I am sorry about that. We truly did as many kits as we could, and as soon as I catch my breath I will make both patterns available to download as PDFs, so stay tuned and I'll let you know when those are ready. And if you're in Portland, don't forget that I will be participating in the Come Play Portland event on November 7, where we will be making ornaments together and doing other fun things. And I'm also pleased to be teaching them at Bolt Fabric Boutique in a two-night class, November 9 and 16. More information about that is here. I can't wait to make these with people!
Right now, I can't wait to clean the house and get some groceries and make some dinner and then, of course, burrow under that poufy duvet with my TiVo clicker and my floppy puppers and nowhere to go and nothing to do for a bit. Doesn't it sound great??? Can't wait!
can't believe i'm the first to comment. yeah, i win. takes so little to please me! love you and andy kept up the good work. the earth needs people like you.
Love your blog, love your photos. Keep thinking about something you posted a few weeks back: "Marry a hottie if you can!" Tell him to keep up the great work!

Yay for Andy (and all hottie hubbies out there)! One-hundred-thirty-some comments?! You ARE the man!
my hottie even enjoyed reading Andy's post - it was the beer bottle beside the monitor that drew him in from across the room...."what? quilty bloggers are drinking beer while net-surfing???" Then "What's will all the piles of stuff everywhere?". I took great delight in letting him know that your husband was on a kit-making all-nighter and he too great delight in the fact that it was fueled by beer and M&M's. Congrats on finishing the marathon!
Thanks for ... just being you. As to your note about crying once and Andy getting a touch crabby during the project... sometimes I measure my week by: did I cry at work? did I make anyone cry at work? No? Okay then.
No where to go... nothing to do... sounds too wonderful! I am going to make that my goal too.
Enjoy.
Hot, cute and awesome, both of you. cannot wait for the kit to arrive. We are having awful postal strikes here in the UK, may be a LONG wait!
Congratulations on finishing. Get some well deserved rest!
good work! you deserve a rest.
Enjoy your evening of rest and relaxation, it is well deserved. Well done for getting it all done.
Congratulations to both of you on the successful business venture and marriage.
Sounds like a much deserved rest is in order. Enjoy! :)
I really enjoy reading your blog. Now i've decided that my house is my carrot. LOL I love my carrot!
I was so happy to see my shipping notice email today! I hope it's fun to think of how many happy family memories you are making for yourself and others with these kits. Enjoy your rest.
Oh! I got my kits today and am so, so thrilled. They are lovely (and I love getting the sneak peek behind the scenes). Thank you so much.

Flannel pjs, duvet, remote in hand and pup all snuggled up. Sounds so good, will be doing this shortly!
HOT DIGGITY DOG! I AM SO PUMPED! we just bought a house and haven't had a tree in 6 years! These will be our first ornaments. Great work! I will be stalking the mailman...
I don't know how you do it (cutting all those pieces of fabric)! I cut about 30 small squares for a doll quilt (okay, this is the first time I've used a rotary cutter) but I'm so not enjoying this today. I just need to leave the scene and read. Love your duvet! Bed snobs we are at this house. Tomorrows another day!
I love your lampshade. And, I'm so glad I ordered the
kit early. I'm looking forward to putting the ornaments
together.
Oh I'm utterly broken-hearted at not purchasing my kit in time!!!! But congrats to you, Alicia and Andy- for making it through together! Isn't that the BEST way to work through a hard time...with a big hug and a kiss at the end!
Just opened my ornaments kits - they are so pretty!! The thought that struck me mightily as I turned the kits from front to back, seeing the felt and the floss colors was, "WOW - those look just like Alicia P colors!" They are wonderful.
And I particularly noticed the care with which the felt was severed. Not one drop of beer. Actually, I was hoping at least for a CM hair.
So, the kits are just sitting out to admire until a cozy night worthy of such crafting marvel comes along...
Yippee! Orders coming!
The 2 entries re: "the felt kits" are the absolute greatest---I was totally hysterical with laughter at Andy's post----I loved the comment about ironing the felt----and talk about anticipation---well, I can't wait for my kit either!
Ah yes it does. After just shifting back to Western Australia and spending two weeks packing and readying the old place for our departure and then driving almost 2000kms and then arriving and unpacking and now putting in a new garden and it was 39dgs yesterday, phew....those pillows look very inviting - could be a bit squeezy in there tonight or I could go to what's on www.broomecam.com tomorrow, because that's calling me too. Sweet dreams.
Wow -congrats all sold out is wicked! You've got yourself a good little business going eh? How sweet is Andy too?! xxx
