Day in Downers Grove

On Friday we went to Downers Grove to buy some yarn so I wouldn't go cray-cray when I run out of what I brought.

Your newest family member will be here soon. She just is reluctant to leave her nice cozy nest.

Downers Grove is nice, but your photos make it look amazing-it's almost false advertising :)

Good thinking on the yarn stock-up! Wondering what Andy stocked up on... :)

Beautiful pictures. Taking bets that you won't be busting into the new stash for a long time. (Hoping!)

enjoy your time as two and bless the day you are three! Gorgeous Autumn images xxx

Oh! I am feeling sooooo very sorry for you two right now! Seriously, there is nothing more difficult (in a good way of course! Cause we're not talkin' tragedy here...) than the painfully slooow passage of time waiting for a baby to make it's appearance in the world! I've never waited for someone else's labor to kick in, but I've waited for my own 5 times now... excruciating! We went all natural, so there was no induction... But let me tell you, the wait is so worth it in the end!
So happy for you both!!

Heyyyy! That's where I grew up! I do usually stop by Knitche when I go out to visit my parents.

No point in losing your mind now. Plenty of time for that later.

Your photos make Downer's Grove look dreammy. I live in the next town. Knitche is a great store, and I spy some BSA Spud and Chole, maybe? I bought my yarn their for children's knits and took a class there on Kristen Nicholas pillow it was awesome. Hope the little blessing is here soon.

waiting with you, patient and calm, all is as it should be and soon will be even more to love.

Did you go to the Knitche? Love it! You're so close, I wish I could give you a big hug! Talk about intrusive!

ah dude! you're right around the CORNER from me! I hope you went to Knitche I freakin LOVE that place i could stay there for HOURS.

best of luck to you both! i'm excited for you guys and your soon to be little one!

Great photos A! The leaves beside the step (I think it's a step) are gorgeous. I have to laugh at myself though, I got to your yarn image and I was like "Mmmmm, Y-H-A-A-A-R-N". I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Whatcha Making?

If there's anything worse than waiting, waiting, waiting, it's doing it away from your own home and Miss Clover Meadow Paulson. You've all been in my thoughts more than I want to admit, and I've been checking in multiple times a day!

I love Emmett's! Your recent posts make me miss Chicago, having recently moved from there to the south. Best wishes while you wait!

Looks like a fun place.. what fun yarn you bought! I'm sure you will turn those skeins into something cozy for Ms. Bebe. Hope we get to see her modeling them someday.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Perhaps you already know...but there's a huge, wonderful Savers thrift store right off hwy 355/88 (around there anyway!). If you like thriftiing it could be a fun diversion for a couple hours...

Best of luck. Parenthood is a crazy wonderful thing. :)

Alicia, I've been a reader for some time, but finally felt the compulsion to comment. I was born in Downer's Grove and grew up there. What a wonderful place! I am so happy for you and all the change that is about to happen. My great-grandfather is Andrew Paulson so I've also been wondering if we're related...

The suspense is killing me.

I have been following your blog for several months now, since my sister gave me your new embroidery book for my birthday. I can't help anticipating your great joy at finally meeting your baby--there is no other such sweet beauty in the world! God Bless :)

I read that post quickly (and ok, I might need reading glasses) and mistook 'yarn' for 'yam'. I gotta say, I was surprised anyone needs yams that badly.

Aw, man, now I can't stop singing the Emo Phillips song in my head.

But looks like your day was delicious! I love that kind of shopping.

Gorgeous photography. Praying for the two of you, soon to be three, during this special time of blessing! So happy for you and your family! Praying also for the birth mother. God bless her. Such an opportunity to bless. Praying God comfort her at this time.

This is almost as suspenseful as waiting for our daughter to have her baby -she's due in January. Best wishes to all involved. You will be great parents.
