Very, very excited about all of the sampler enthusiasm — thank you so much! I am thrilled. We will talk!

It's my birthday tomorrow, so I made myself a wee little birthday cake. And took a big huge picture of it. :-)

this is the most beautiful cake ever! how sweet! What did you use on the top? I believe I see juniper, wax flower, and pomegranate berries? I might have to save this to inspire a similar approach to cake decorating this summer!

happy, happy birthday, alicia! I hope you dove into that cake like there's no tomorrow (yum!)

Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday! My mother is 97 today! I was just thinking I was going to make a comment about her birthday and then saw that yours is tomorow. Good month:) Hope you have a blessed day and year.

Wishes for a lovely birthday to a lovely lady

Beautiful cake and what a creative way to decorate it. I love those little flags! You have that 'touch' with everything! I was looking at dishes at TJ Max today and I actually asked myself if I could see them on your table! You set the standard my dear!

Happy Day. The cake is gorgeous! LIsa L.

Your cake and it's lovely pedestal make me want to run off to the English countryside for a picnic - quilt and cake and kitty in tow. It is BEYOND beyond. Happy Birthday to such a lovely, inspirational, and life- affirming individual who touches so many through her pictures, words and thoughts (and of course via your crafty-licious ways!). Peace and hugs to you.

I think that's the prettiest birthday cake I've ever seen! Surely your special day will be beautiful, too ...
have fun, Paulson clan!

What a beautiful cake! I hope you birthday is perfect!
I love the sampler too, but a nervous about counted cross stitch.. I am game though!

Happy Birthday, Alicia! You are a wonderful blogger and a great inspiration to me.

I LOVE your sampler photo. I am a poor pastor's wife, so I'm hoping the materials won't be very expensive. My mother created a lovely, complicated counted-cross-stitch sampler in the '80s, and I would love to make one and have a try at family tradition.

Thanks for pouring yourself out and adding so much beauty to the world. Love, Katie

Happy Birthday to a really special person!!!! May you have a most glorious day!!!

What an adorable cake!! Very sweet, Alicia, just like you are! I hope your birthday is your best one yet!!!! ENJOY!!!!

Fabulous cake!
Happy Birthday Wishes Alicia ♥

Wishing you a very happy birthday, Alicia. May the coming year be filled with happiness.

I love it!!! Happy birthday to you!! Are those pomegranate seeds? Delightful!
