Thank you, thank you. Thank you for being on this long journey with us, and for all of your kind words and sweet wishes and prayers and tears and enthusiasm and joy that this little girl has arrived in the world and in her families' — both her birth family's and her adoptive family's — arms. Andy and I are each reading every one of the comments. There is a lot of sniffling, and occasionally outright sobbing. The comments are so beautiful, each one a wish for Amelia. I always imagine all of them together sparkling like a net of stars across the sky for her, like so many stars I wished on over the years. Thank you. It has been a week filled with every emotion (I could list them, but I'm typing with one hand), and more love and happiness than I have ever known. Oh, dear, sweet, darling, darling girl. She blinks when she's awake, and looks placidly out at all of us. She purses her rosebud lips and sticks out her tongue. She claps her feet (too big already for all her socks and booties). Buongiorno, bella principessa. You had three rainbows over your house in your first week.

Oh what a beautiful home she has been welcomed into. I cannot wait to see her in all of her sewn dresses and lovingly knit sweaters. She is a princess in a castle. And you look like you are enjoying and grasping onto every single moment with her. Enjoy!

Now thats a beautiful family

Oh my heart is just bursting. The way a picture can capture the change in a room from what is has been, which was lovely, to what it is now, which is lovely AND filled with a new precious being. Her presence is so clearly there.

And the rainbow! She is most assuredly very blessed, as are her families.

I am truly so happy for you all! You all look cozy and settling in, im sure any time of year is great to welcome a baby, but this cozy time of year seems especially wonderful. (My Amelia has big feet too)

She's completely beautiful. I can't tell you how happy I am for you and your families.
One tip about typing with one hand vs two and newborns : ) - buy a wrap/carrier of some kind. We loved the Moby wrap with our son, and I'm planning on getting the Ergo carrier for the next.
Lots of good wishes : )

Alica, I have just read the fantastic news about your newest addition to your family!! She is absolutely precious. I obviously don't know you personally but have followed your blog for a number of years now. This truly brings tears of joy to my eyes. I am so happy that you two have finally been blessed with the arrival of a precious little one to fill your hearts and lives with joy and love. Congratulations to the both of you!! Welcome to the world Amelia! Blessed be!

p.s. She is absolutely adorable! :D

Alicia, my heart is a flutter. I have been peeking in madly, waiting for more snippets (funny how we fall in love with far away people) - so happy filled to bursting with happiness for you and Andy and Amelia. The 3 A's ;)

I have so much to say, but it won't come out. My heart is so full and hppy for all of you. No words can describe it.

I thought of you in a flurry of butterflies and flower petals - and made good hearted wishes and hopes for all of you.

Precious Amelia..... oh my heart.

Much love, Vanessa

I think Amelia is going to have tons of fun with you guys! Many, many congratulations!

I have been thinking about you guys off and on since Friday, and imagining you guys in the thick of it. I mean that in the most positive way too. Where you are so tired but full of bliss. You walk around with this fatigue for lack of sleep, but what carries you through the day is the amazing gift you were given. So much fun. The newborn stage is one of my favorite stages :) Enjoy, Enjoy. Favorite thing also is baby laundry....So fun to fold all those darling little clothes :)

Love the beautiful sign you made for her, and I had the exact cradle for my daughters.

ps: What do the furs think about the flurry of baby excitement? I see furry beautiful face, looking up at baby by the fire... love...

How wonderful. I've been checking back every day to see how you are all settling in. Everything in your pictures looks, well, rosy :) Are you loving motherhood? What a precious time. And busy! Congratulations again and again.

She has the most beautiful and wise eyes. On old, splendid soul.

On my! What an absolutely adorable baby. How lovely that one small person can bring so much happiness with her into the world. I've been thinking of you for the last few days and it has been super to see the photos. Thanks for sharing her with us.

Oh, I've been checking back so frequently for pictures! She's so beautiful! And now my screen has gone all bleary.... thanks for posting pics! Enjoy this time! More exclamation points!!!

I had to chuckle at the "typing with one hand" aside - I'm currently doing the same thing!! you'll be a one-handed-at-everything pro before you know it!

What a beautiful family!

She's absolutely beautiful, and I'm so happy for you that you're her family. :)

Yayy!!! The pants work! How fun to finally get to use all the knits you made and undoubtedly dreamed about using... I remember before bringing my first one home, sitting in the yellow baby's room and holding each of the few outfits I had, imagining my baby girl in them (now she is 13 and an amazon!).
I don't even know you but can't tell you enough how happy I am for you all. What an exciting time in your life right now.
Just enjoy, enjoy, enjoy...

What blessings God has for us!

Oh, she's wonderful. (Willing myself not to cry some more.) Such a sweet little one. Your pictures are so pretty and isn't it fun how she's made us ALL so happy?! (Thank you, Lord, for Amelia.)

This whole post is glowing - the sky, the baby, the firelight! All the love flowing through everywhere - except maybe Clover, who still looks a bit stunned by this new little person!

I'm sooo happy for you! It brings tears to my eyes just hearing how thankful you are for little Amelia. She's so beautiful, and so obviously loved by both you two and her birth parents. I so admire their courage to give her up. Knowing that you will give her such a wonderful life must help. What a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas this will be for your family!

The best kind of happiness is the kind you feel for someone else. I can't tell you how happy I am for you.
She is perfect, a beauty! You have so much to look forward to. Little prayers go out to the birth parents. May their lives be blessed for such a gift.

What does Miss Clover think of the new girl in the house?

I couldn't wait for your next post, for more pictures, more beautiful words. Amelia is precious. Babies bring such joy and so much more. It reminds me of when my two girls were babies. It went fast, so eat it all up! I can just smell that baby smell again! Enjoy it all!
