The Pumpkin Patch

I've never been a big fan of Halloween. Pumpkin patches, though — pumpkin patches I like a lot. Pumpkin patches out on the island, with dear friends and excited kiddos, with the morning fog settled into the hills and dales, with the trees turning red and the brown fields starting to sleep, with the birds swooping and singing in the cold morning air, with the flowers bright against the grayish-greens, with the pumpkins bright against the murky mud, with rumbling hay rides out to the farther fields, with caramel apples and sausages and apple cider for lunch, with cow trains and corn mazes and a big bag of apples to bring back home. With a little girl who's seeing it all for the very first time. I am, too.

I absolutely love Halloween - and pumpkin patches. Fall is my favorite season, the colors, the smell of smoke in the air, misty fields. It's a holiday that is the last relaxing one of the year for me - before the craziness of Thanksgiving/Christmas sets in. Your pictures say it all.

It's nice to see you in front of the camera, I'm usually the photographer too.
What a gorgeous day you had with your special family.

Wow, where did you find that fog! We've had brilliant sunshine for the longest time! I accidentally found a pumpkin patch out near Sandy.. I put pix on my blog.. got a great one of the mountain with a white farmhouse in the shot..

You got some super nifty photos and I was happy to see you in one of them.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Love the picture of you with the baby. What a dreamy photo spread and narrative. Love you Posie.

How I miss those days with my little ones! Rosebud lips, rosy cheeks and a rose in her hair! So pretty!

Hallowe'en isn't as big here in England, but we do have pumpkins. Not from pumpkin patches though - I think we're missing a trick. It looks like you had a wonderful time. The picture of Andy holding her is wonderful, I agree with Jenn, you are a very talented photographer. Love the picture of her on a pumpkin too, as well as the one of the two of you. Autumn is such a beautiful time, and you have captured it so well.

I LOVE THESE PHOTOS!!! Does that sound like I'm screaming just a little bit? (I kind of am...)Somehow perfect.

Вау!!!!!!!Очень красиво!!!Ваш журнал-мой самый любимый!!!!!

Beautiful Mama & daughter pic. So very lovely. Thank you so much for sharing, each post of yours feels like a little gift. I particularly love seeing what girly things you create for Amelia, since I only have boys :), so sadly no pink or fluffy in my house :) so your posts are extra special to me for that too. The things you make are amazingly exquisite and inspirational.

Love the foggy adventure to the pumpkin patch.

Just beautiful!! I wish every child was as loved as Ms. Amelia. You and Andy are wonderful, amazing parents. You are the parents every child should have. Such Pure Love.

Alicia- I'm so delighted whenever I see a new post of yours in my Feedly feed! It's like getting a "just because" greeting card from a dear old friend.
I just want to tell you your photos are ethereal- they make me want to live your life!
And Amelia is the most precious, darling child ever- she is the epitome of every children's storybook toddler illustration! Your photos capture how loved and adored she is. The fact that you and Andy have finally been so blessed to be able to be parents- that truly brings peace to my soul, and I want to thank you for sharing your joy- your posts are such a respite from this crazy world we live in. Thanks!

Oh, it's cold there! I love pumpkin patches, too. Your little darling is wearing the perfect pumpkin-hunting outfit.

Mimi is just the cutest and sweetest little thing. A life with with love and adventures to be had, limitless new things when you are 1 !

Wow, amazing photos what an amazing place

I love this season too, I think it started that way b/c I have a fall birthday but now that has all changed...I live in Australia now where all the seasons have switched on me. We celebrate Thanksgiving in 85-90 degree heat??
I just love the photo of you and Amelia, so previous, you need to have more of those taken (I try to remind my husband that every so often ;))
Always enjoy your photos and thoughts, thank you for sharing!

Yay, a picture of you! =)

oh the wooly coat! and so sweet to see YOU in a photo...precious! the photos are lovely, but your descriptive words are just divine....beautifully written, such a gift. if i had to pick one thing i love about amelia, it would be her flyaway

I too, loved seeing you in the photo with your sweetie pie. Here is a link to another blogger I love:Under the Sycamore. Ashley shared a really important and touching message for moms(hint-you are so tenderhearted Alicia, have a tissue ready):

Beautiful photographs!

Pumpkin patches are best experienced with little ones! We started a tradition of taking ours to a pumpkin patch since the year she was born. I look forward to it every year.

So cute. You, him and of course her.
I have always hated Halloween, but with kids, nothing is too terrible.

How delightful to see a picture of you too! Thanks, Alicia
