Best New Year's gift ever: We woke up to snow early on Sunday morning, and Andy had the whole day off! Nothing can compare to this, for me. I dream of it. To watch our daughter playing in the snow in her own yard, on her own street, and in her own park is just beyond-words wonderful. It was so much fun. It was just one day, but oh, it was the best day. I'll never forget it.
***Yep, she's a sled dog. :)
How wonderful. I can feel the joy just looking at your photos. What a perfect day. Happy New Year!
I love that little wooden chair! I guess it's a stroller of sorts.
Andy almost bare feet in the snow?
Signed, Astonished Aussie
One day can make all the difference ~ add snow ⛄️ and it becomes precious memories for a lifetime.
When I look at all your wonderful photo's I can't help but see a story book in the making. Have you ever thought about creating a picture book with little one line notations? Just a thought. 😊
Wonderful snow day pics! The icing on the holiday cake, or as one friend put it a snow day sandwich with a winter break filling.
Rosiest cheekers!!! Love the exuberance in your words, your photos and Mimi's face:) xo
Oregon snow dreams.
I LOVE this post w/your little scandinavian princess!
Such precious photos! So glad you got your snow. That's really wonderful!
Um...dog collar and tags?? lol!
what a wonderful gift!!! Such precious photos - like an Eloise Wilkin illustration :)
And Letters from Honeyhill - I hope you are enjoying it! I loved it so much I wrote a blog post about it.
Breathing in those joyous pictures of sweet Amelia on that little red sled! So perfect. I love every one. And that one of the two of you snuggling is precious. And what an absolutely adorable hand-sized snowman. It all made me smile and warmed my heart. Truly your blog is my favorite place to visit. Even the book on the table, the quilts on the bed, the food... love it all!
Oh what joy. The last photo is just the best...
Could your girl look any more like something out of a Carl Larsson painting?!? The sweet pointed hat is just too cute!
Happy New Year to your gorgeous family - I dream of snow as we are melting here in Australia. Your photo's are darling and love viewing your blog. Can I ask the recipe for the photo of the tortilla and filling. Looks delish. Thank you for sharing here with us all.
Wasn't it magical?? A friend of mine described it as, "happiness falling from the sky," I couldn't agree more!!
I wasn't ready for it to be over. If only all that ice had been snow and stayed awhile. I hope we get more days this winter to tumble in the snow globe!
The sweet little wool dear you had in your previous post, would you mind sharing where you got that? You do find the most clever things!!
and rosy cheeks to boot . . .
oh my, . . . glorious photos.
Happy New Year Days!
these images are just so wonderful - a story beautifully captured x
dude, A with furry hat, wispy hair, rosy cheeks, red coat photo is such a keeper. you gotta frame it and enter it in the county fair.
Darling pictures! And that little sweater -- the buttons are swoon worthy! We're down in the Salem area and I had to giggle yesterday driving out of my neighborhood. Hardly any snow left in yards but a snowman in almost every one of them! Give a kid a teaspoon of snow and they'll figure out how to build a snowman. Hope this isn't our last for the winter.
One more question, do you bring your good camera out with you on outings (like your recent snow adventure) and if so, how do you manage it while child wrangling? Mine feels cumbersome around my neck, but I worry about it under my stroller....but I don't get as many wonderful photos when it is in the camera bag. How do you manage?
Oh she looks like a little Carrie Ingalls in that pic of her long hair and dress. So adorable!!
I have followed your blog for quite some time and I just love your photographs. You perfectly captured your daughter's joy and awe of the snowfall. I so enjoy your posts!
So happy you got your snow!!!! We got a bit of it the other morning, too. Still waiting for it to really get going here in Providence. Last year was epic. So happy for you! Happiest of New Years to you guys!
So happy you got your much wished for snow Alicia!! What wonderful memories you made that day!!
Let me be one of the first to wish you a Happy Birthday!!!
I only know this because we share a birthday ;)
