Best New Year's gift ever: We woke up to snow early on Sunday morning, and Andy had the whole day off! Nothing can compare to this, for me. I dream of it. To watch our daughter playing in the snow in her own yard, on her own street, and in her own park is just beyond-words wonderful. It was so much fun. It was just one day, but oh, it was the best day. I'll never forget it.

***Yep, she's a sled dog. :)

Happy New Year,

Your photos make me smile and feel happy. You live in a beautiful state and its great to see you all out enjoying the snow. Thank you x

Oh you have a snow baby too. Wonderful to see so much fun being had.

Delightful. What are the red breasted birds in the photo?

Darling girl, lovely pictures, such fun....love the dog collar! Thank you for sharing.

Happy New Year to you and your family! What a great way to start my day by seeing your beautiful photos and being in the moment with you -

Love the pj's in the snow pics! We live in a place where snow is a rare gift as well, so when it does come, we have to give it a test run as it might disappear too soon.

I love that your photos are not cluttered with words. Almost feels like I'm there.

Love the snow day pictures and the pure joy you captured on Amelia's face. Winter is truly magical....cold but magical. (7 degrees here yesterday...brrrr.)

what a lovely post. oh my goodness the snow is beautiful, and your muff in her nightgown and boots is the best. but, maybe even better than that, her little doggie tags....so she doesn't forget who she belongs to. precious.

Our Portland granddaughter, Juliet was here in Michigan for Christmas, but alas no snow to play in with her cousin, Sarah. She had to go back to Portland to get some snow. Alicia, I love your pictures and writing.

Absolutely beautiful pictures.

Oh what a fun day. Loved the photos! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We've only had one snowfall here in Portland Maine. So strange. Seasons are changing and that's not a good thing!
Those mountains are amazing!

Not even a sniff of the cold white stuff here. Your gorgeous girlie looks like she's really relishing the snowy conditions and that has to be the cutest snowman ever constructed.

Hi! Your blog is "hygge." Total and complete. Thanks for sharing your breathtaking pictures, your beautiful words and your sweet family!

How utterly lovely. Thank you for sharing these! I have a ten-year-old daughter and seeing these made me both nostalgic about her as a little one and determined to appreciate the snow - and the girl who loves the snow - we have, too.

Snow!! These are the happiest photos I have seen. Amelia's rosy cheeks and laughter made me smile and smile. This is the best post to start the day! And I love the photo of little Clover snuggled in the blanket. I am even more determined to learn to crochet now!

As usual the photos are so precious. Meems looks like she had a swell time sledding in the snow! So many smiles with so much laughter. Happy New Year to you and your precious family.

Such wonderful memories and lovely photos to share them with us too! Thank you. I notice you have been doing just a few more of you and sweet Miss. Continue!! Even if you don't show them to us Mimi will treasure them. I look at my own albums and you would think my kids were Motherless. It was always "I look terrible, my hairs a mess...etc" and now I know the kids really regret not having those casual everyday photos captured. Happy New Year to you all!!

Love the happiness in all these photos - and I love the sweater with the fabulous buttons and and the bed with the big pile of blankets - happiness everywhere! Happy New Year to all three of you. xo

Your world looks magical from where I'm sitting. :)

Beautiful!! You have such a lovely ability to capture the magic of the moment. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I could find the words to express how much JOY your blog brings me. Thank you so much for sharing.

love, love, love. provenance, please, of snowflake mobile and amelia's peaked hat?

To find joy in the unexpected is a gift itself. So happy for you and what another delightful collection of images you give us.
